ZwickRoell

High-Energy Drop Weight Testers from 20,000 J

ZwickRoell high-energy drop weight testers are used for fracture surface testing of ferritic steels according to standards such as ASTM E436, API-RP 5L3, and DIN EN 10274. They test material brittleness by applying sudden impact loading to specimens through a vertically falling weight. The six sizes (20 kJ to 100 kJ) are offered with 2.5 or 5-meter drop heights in machines that have pneumatic feeding, rapid tool change, and sophisticated safety systems, which makes them perfect for aggressive industrial testing.

  • Modular system with six sizes and two drop height options.

  • Pneumatic specimen feeding outside the test area for fast, safe handling.

  • Quick-change system for anvils

  • Flexure table with integrated centering for easy thickness adjustments.

  • Electrical and mechanical safety circuits to prevent accidental operation.

  • Electronically monitored safety lock bar.

  • Touchscreen display for drop height, energy, weight, and velocity.

  • Stepless height adjustment based on weight and energy input.

  • Four high-performance shock absorbers.

  • Controlled low-temperature cooler for precise specimen conditioning.
