Testing Machines Inc. Elmendorf Tear Tester

The Testing Machines Inc. Elmendorf Tear Tester is a consistent, computerized instrument used to determine the force required to propagate a tear in materials such as paper, plastic film, textiles, and non-wovens. It conforms to several industry standards, such as ASTM and ISO, to ensure consistency across testing environments. The tester has easy two-button operation for the pneumatic clamp and pendulum swing, making it easy to use. An optical encoder offers accurate tear measurement, and the full-color touchscreen makes software easier to navigate. Puncture resistance testing is optional with the Spencer Impact attachment, provided only at the point of purchase. This versatile device is thus well-suited for detailed, time-saving material strength analysis.
